The Chamber is working with the Green Business Forum and the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership to help business owners find real savings in their energy costs. This is not just about going green or saving the planet but about reducing costs in energy use, waste handling and improving business performance. We all know that this makes sense but often find that we don’t have the time or resources to deal with it. It’s not as difficult as you might think.Small to medium size enterprises and qualifying ‘not for profit organisations’ can have a FREE audit of their energy and resource use. A qualified advisor will visit premises and work with the owners to assess the situation. Practical measures to be taken will be identified and help will be given to improve staff awareness and understanding. In some cases this can involve just stopping doing something that has been wasteful or changing things to improve energy efficiency. Some of our members in the manufacturing sector and those running large offices have already used this service and as a result have made great strides in cutting their energy bills. It clearly makes sense in the current economic climate to find ways to cut costs and it just couldn’t be easier.
